Goals! How to Get Everything You Want – Faster Than You Ever Thought Possible
Note: This book review originally appeared as part of a series of blog posts related to goal setting.
Brian Tracy’s Goals! – How to Get Everything You Want – Faster Than You Ever Thought Possible is a great resource to have on hand while working on your 2010 Game Plan. The best part is that this 330 page ebook is available at absolutely no charge to you. (You just need to sign up for Brian Tracy’s enewsletter).
This information-packed ebook is divided into 21 chapters, each representing a specific action step you can use to achieve your goals. Sample chapter titles include: Determine Your True Goals (the importance of clarity); Start at the Beginning (why you need to honestly evaluate where you are today); Make a Plan of Action (very important!); and Do Something Every Day (Take Action!)
I first read this book awhile ago – and just revisited it earlier this week as I was working on my business and personal goals for 2010. I was surprised to find how much of what is recommended in this book had become part of my daily habits. For example, I often mention here how important it is to do something – anything – every single day to move your business forward. I find this particularly applicable to the content creation process because it is so easy for weeks or months to go by without doing anything once you get off track.
Other chapters serve as great reminders (i.e. Remain Flexible At All Times). While it is important to have a plan and to follow that plan, it is still necessary to be able to adapt when necessary. This is especially applicable to online marketing – where things can and do change all the time. This thought is first and foremost on my mind as I determine what I want to accomplish in 2010. I have no idea what is going to be relevant 6 months from now – so I need to make sure that the editorial calendar, publishing schedule and business goals I set now are fluid enough to adapt to this rapidly changing environment.
As you develop your 2010 Action Plan, I believe this book will prove to be a valuable resource to you. And, you really can’t beat the price!
